Types of ASHRM memberships:
- Regular: for persons engaged in HR activities at the administrative, professional or managerial level and who devote at least 50% of their time to HR functions. Regular members may vote, serve on and chair committees, and hold office as Director of Officer. Typical titles for Regular Members might include: HR Director, HR Manager, HR Generalist, or a Specialist in Human Resources (eg. Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, Payroll, Recruiting, HRIS, Administration, Training and Development or Safety). Faculty members in Human Resources or related field of Study at an accredited college or university are also eligible to be Regular Members. See note below about digital media release.
- Affiliate: for persons who provide a product or service to businesses for a fee in a Human Resources related area and who do not qualify as a Regular Member. Affiliate membership is limited to 20% of chapter membership. As an affiliate member you may vote, serve on chair committees, and to hold office as Director of Officer. Typical Affiliate Member services and products could include: consulting, benefits, compensation, legal, payroll, staffing, training, etc. See note below about digital media release.
- Student: for any student currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program with an interest in HR. Student members do have voting rights and may not hold office. See note below about digital media release.
Note: With application, all members irrevocably authorize and grant Acadiana SHRM permission to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or otherwise use their likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media ("photo"), in any and all of is publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other compensation. Members waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein their likeness appears, waive any right to compensation arising or related to the use of the photo, and understand and agree that all "photos" will become the property of Acadiana SHRM. They release Acadiana SHRM from all claims, demands, and causes of action which they, or any other persons acting on their behalf have, by reason of this authorization.
Membership Dues:
New member dues are based on a rolling calendar year. A $25 discount is available for Regular Members and Affiliate Members who are also members of the national SHRM organization. Your SHRM membership number must be provided on the application to receive the discount.
