Recognizing Professional Excellence in ASHRM Members

FEBRUARY WINNER

Nomination submitted:

Christina recently PASSED the SHRM certification exam after studying relentlessly for 6 months and dedicating countless hours to advancing her HR knowledge and skills.  As a professional committed to elevating the HR profession, she has hosted HR interns through ASHRM and mentored a ULSHRM student, all while leading impactful projects at Metal Shark Boats where she works as HR Generalist.  Congratulations to our newest SHRM-CP!

Where are your originally from?

Lake Arthur, LA

Who is your current employer?

Metal Shark Boats

What is your job title?

Human Resource Generalist

How long have you worked here?

3 years

How long have you been an ASHRM Member?

4-5 years

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Obtaining my SHRM-CP.  That "PASSED" screen almost didn't seem real.

What was the last movie you went to see at the theater?

Frozen 2.  It was fantastic.

If you could eat only on meal for the rest of you life, what would it be?

Boiled shrimp, yum!

What is your favorite holiday?

Christmas - an entire holiday season dedicated to being holly, jolly and giving.

Are you usually early or late?

I guess that depends on if I want to be there.  Overall though I'd say I'm usually early.

What job would you be terrible at?

I'd be a terrible salesman.

What is the farthest you've ever been from home?

Washington D.C.

What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with absolutely no preparation?

Well, in my work life I do that every other Monday for orientation!  But for funsies I could talk your ear off about the TV show Gilmore Girls with season and episode citations.

What is one of you favorite smells?

I like fresh, clean smells.  Crisp morning air would have to be one of my favorites.

If you could make on rule that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

Oh my.  This is dangerous.  I'm going to keep this small and silly, but everyone should be required to decorate their house for holidays.  It's just not the same when it's only one house on the whole block!
