Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Acadiana SHRM! ASHRM's Board of Directors is comprised of working professionals who volunteer their time to run the chapter, put on events, and ensure that our members are getting the most out of their ASHRM membership. Each board member is responsible for certain duties, and each position varies in the time commitment required. 

Per ASHRM's by-laws, all candidates for the Board of Directors must be a Regular or Affiliate member of the chapter in good standing at the time of nomination or appointment. Per SHRM by-laws, the President, President-Elect, VP of Membership, and SHRM Certification Director must be a current member of SHRM in good standing throughout the duration of his/her term of office. 

Board positions are elected on an annual basis, with terms running per the calendar year. Nominations are held at the end of each year for the following year. 

ASHRM Board Members must be willing to fulfill the duties of their role, engaged in chapter operations, responsive to Board communications, and eager to carry out the responsibilities of their position to the best of their ability.
